But you could just have an alternative sword to swap to when that happens. You could also try Blasphemous Blade which is a known favorite that scales with STR/FAI, but does split damage with fire so you could run into that enemies being resistant to fire issue. The Iron Greatsword does the most damage of any greatsword, albeit you will have to farm for it. The Iron Greatsword and Gargoyle Greatsword scale best with STR so you'd probably use heavy infusion on those. At that point, what physical infusion you choose depends on the greatsword. But, if I were to do the playthrough again, I'd probably swap to one of the physical damage scaling infusions when needed. Personally I was stubborn and did not bother to change the infusion and suffered through long drawn out fights lol. All the more, if it is raining in-game fire will do less damage as well. There are only a handful that have this resistance but when you come across them with a flame infused sword you will feel the difference. Only downside to this is when you come across an enemy or boss that is highly resistant to fire. For most greatswords, that scaling should allow you to do over 800 damage. I used Flame Art, as that scales it scales with both strength and faith. I do hope the bosses of the DLC are more like Godfrey and Radagon though rather than Malenia, did my first Level 1 run this week and the difficulty + speed is very manageable and generous once you get the hang of their moveset, it's just when she does that waterfowl pull out of nowhere it's game over. Click to shrink.I don't think the bosses were designed with summons per se in mind (except Radahn where it's the whole festival thing) but bosses like Morgott and Malenia are very fast ang aggressive indeed, they're manageable though it's their combo's they string that feel fast and can stun-lock you to instant death.ĮR's flow of combat vs bosses is different than Dark Souls, the openings are usually within a boss's attack, like Morgott as example again will do a tail swipe if you're up close sometimes and while the general instinct is to roll away you just missed out on an opening by jumping over it and attacking at the same time or when Malenia lunges at you with the stab you roll along her, rather than away for the opening, they're there just not in traditional sense of Boss attacks > Now it's my turn > Repeat, you usually have to count in positioning as well.
